Heather Gray

Created for love is a practical manual with questions for personal reflection and specific exercises at the end of each chapter, written simply and effectively drawing support upon many years of counselling experience. This book is divided into 2 parts - 1. Understanding self-esteem and 2. Building self-esteem.

Life is a journey toward maturity and becoming a whole & mature person does not happen automatically. It involves personal growth and effort, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. This is sometimes painful but always rewarding.
When Jesus said, ‘I have come that they may have life & have it to the full, ‘ he was not only referring to life after death. He intends us to live life to the full now!’

At each step of your journey you are not alone. Jesus is with you & he provides faithful teachers & helpers along the way. Reach out in faith & enjoy your journey helped by the tools provided in this little book.
Thank you John & Agnes Sturt.

Chasing the Dragon - Jackie Pullinger

The cover of this inspiring book exclaims it, is ‘one woman’s struggle against the darkness of Hong Kong’s drug dens.’

And so it was, - a real page turner of the old school. I’d heard of Jackie Pullinger or Miss Poon as her followers called her, about forty years ago when a friend of mine, prayed, became a Christian and ended up going out to Bangkok to do similar  work, but that’s another story!

Jackie Pullinger set sail from England in 1966 with no idea that God was calling her to the Walled City of Hong Kong that was. As she spoke of Jesus Christ, brutal Triad gangsters were converted, prostitutes quit, and Jackie discovered a new treatment for drug addiction: the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Today, she still lives in Hong Kong at 81 years continuing her work. Never the ‘boring’ missionary, with no makeup & sensible shoes, she has carved her own path & I am sure she will merit sainthood.

An exciting read indeed especially for the young who wish to be inspired to follow her. Thank you Jackie and thank you Sister Kalyana or (Sue Hunt) who first drew me to her attention in a Buddhist Monastery.
